We are thrilled to announce that our 8th Annual International Critical Dietetics Conference will be hosted in historic Montgomery, Alabama, USA. The conference convenor is the esteemed Past President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dr. Evelyn Crayton. The conference will be hosted at Alabama State University. We are deeply appreciative of our ASU conference convenor, Dr. Danita Stapleton.
The final conference program is now available: Critical Dietetics Final Conference Program.
Unlike previous conferences, in 2018 we will meet during autumn instead of summer. The confirmed dates are Nov. 16-18.
There are THREE types of registration:
You must be a member of CD to attend the Saturday conference, whether it be in-person or online. Your membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
If you are attending the conference in-person, you can also register to join us for a Soul Food Dinner on Saturday night and/or a Civil Rights Tour on Sunday. Spaces are limited.
If you are only attending the conference on Friday (student presentations in the morning and the People’s Tribunal in the afternoon), it is completely FREE!
Please contact Jacqui Gingras if you have any questions about registration.
Are you curious about what goes on at a Critical Dietetics conference? Here is what one attendee shared who attended our 3rd International Conference:
“I wanted to thank you again for your contributions in hosting the conference this past week. I am just back from a two month leave from work and this conference was inspirational, rejuvenating and refreshing. It was such a relaxed and respectful environment and the warmth and openness you both expressed, created an environment that felt more like a gathering of friends than a work related conference. There was also comfort and reassurance in meeting other like minded dietitians that are seeing diverse opportunities within the profession and opportunities for change. I just wanted to share my heartfelt gratitude and many thanks for your passion and dedication to the profession.”
